Wines of the World: Dessert and Fortified Wines

Often the most overlooked category of wine, invariably dessert wines surprise and delight people whenever we put them in our Saturday in-store tastings. So let's shake up some preconceptions and learn- through tasting, of course- how these can be some of the most unique and sought-after wines in the world. We'll examine late harvest and sauternes-style wines, ruby and tawny ports and the most favorite wine of America's founding fathers, Madeira.

This class meets 2 consecutive Tuesday evenings, April 13 and 20, from 7-8:15 p.m. Reservations are required and the class is limited to 14 participants. In accordance with Connecticut liquor control statutes, there is no charge for the class.

Please note:  Because of limited class size, these classes have waiting lists. Please don't be a no-show. If you are confirmed for a class and find that you cannot attend, be courteous to a person on the waiting list and notify us as soon as possible, at least 48 hours prior to the class. We want to accomodate as many people as possible
