What gustatory, gastronomic and just plain sensuous combination is more natural than wine and cheese? Even so this elemental pas de deux can too often stumble through off-key and clashing combinations.

We team up with the good folks in the cheese department at Whole Foods to offer this first-of-a-series class in the elements of wine and cheese pairing.

We taste examples of the four key categories of cheese and experiment with both red and white wines with these cheeses. Our objective is to take a fresh approach to wine and cheese and perhaps dispel some misperceptions and dubious "rules" about this potentially profound combination.
