Class 1 focuses on the Left Bank appellations such as St.-Estephe, Pauillac, St.-Julien, Margaux and Pessac-Leognan.
Class 2 focuses on the Right Bank appellations of St.-Emilion and Pomerol as well as some satellite appellations.
